Jeff Neumann ~ Owner
A former college professor, Jeff decided that retirement was a good time to get outdoors! He could not think of a better way to spend time enjoying God’s creation than to help others enjoy the beauty of nature as well. Jeff has spent many years exploring West Michigan by bike, boat, and foot. Canoeing down the Grand River one day, it occurred to him that there may be others who are wishing to do the same thing, but maybe they lack the equipment/support needed to make it happen. Jeff was formerly certified as an instructor by the American Canoe Association.
Rita Neumann ~ Business Manager
Rita grew up in New Orleans where she was an avid cyclist while in college. She moved to Ann Arbor in 1989 to go to grad school and fell in love with the four-season beauty of Michigan. She is currently a physical therapist and also works in quality improvement. In her spare time, she volunteers with a therapeutic horseback riding program in Alto for people with disabilities. Rita enjoys canoeing and biking with her husband Jeff, horseback riding and spending time with her mini-Rex rabbit, Pepper.
Mark Neumann ~ Technology Adviser
Jeff’s son, Mark was brought on board to help make GR Paddling a reality. Like his dad, he has always enjoyed spending time outdoors and wishes that more people would do the same. When not helping out with GR Paddling or spending his own time outdoors, Mark works as a Theatrical Lighting Designer and Event Coordinator.
